Fittingly, the "House Party" at James' home has a star-studded guest list. Pictures shared the hilarious trailer for the upcoming House Party remake, slated for release on January 13. The red-band trailer for the LeBron James-produced reboot of 'House Party' starring Tosin Cole, Jacob Latimore, Karen Obilom, and DC Young Fly has arrived. Watch the official trailer for House Party above and listen to the 2 Chainz’s new song “2 Step,” created for the comedy film below. In the teaser, Latimore and Cole play Kevin and Damon, two young men who work as house cleaners.
Terrell is a huge fan of great storytelling when it comes to television and film. Some of his favorite shows include The Crown, WandaVision, Abbot Elementary and Godfather of Harlem. And a fun fact is he's completely dialed into the TLC 90 Day Fiancé universe. It's in the vein of such nostalgia that many would-be viewers will be watching the Lebron James-produced reboot when it debuts. The reboot was first announced all the way back in 2018, with LeBron and Maverick Carter on board as producers through their production company SpringHill Entertainment.
House Party: release date, trailer and everything we know about the remake
While he's gained notoriety for directing Lil Nas X's video for the mega-hit "Old Town Road," this full-length film will mark his first major project in the cinematic world. A fun little note, that is the same exact runtime as the original. The 1990s hit film has been reimagined with a new cast, new cultural references and a new plot. Here's everything you need to know about James' role in the upcoming "House Party" and what to expect from the film. If a modern twist on nostalgic memories is your type of hype, get ready for the newest iteration of "House Party," set to release in theaters in 2023 with the backing of Lakers superstar LeBron James. Keeping the same basic outline but almost entirely forgetting the original's sense of fun, this unnecessary remake proves a House Party divided against itself cannot stand.
Based on the synopsis, we'd say the reboot sounds quite different from the original. This shouldn't be too shocking when you learn that Emmy-nominated Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori have been tasked with writing a brand new script for the movie. James, who has a number of ventures in the entertainment industry, has had a major hand in the film, which is produced by his SpringHill Production Company, New Line Cinema as well as Warner Bros. Damon and Kevin arrive back at the mansion to return the ring and end the party, but are interrupted by LeBron who returned from his trip early. LeBron intends to have the duo arrested, but Damon claims Kevin was not involved in the party and makes a wager that LeBron will let him go if he can beat the NBA superstar in a pickup basketball game. LeBron wins easily, and Damon is hauled off by the police.
Discovery believes the film will be able to take advantage of the entertainment-packed weekend. We rank every one of the British director's movies by Metascore, from his debut Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels to his brand new film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The highlight of the trailer was easily King James’ cameo, showing that the NBA star has a high-tech hologram in his mansion to give him little automated, positive, and reassuring messages. Considering the main characters are throwing an unauthorized party in LeBron James’ mansion, it should be interesting to see what happens if James shows up at the end. The 2023 "House Party" release is not a remake, but a reboot of the 1990 film of the same name.
The iconic 90’s movie House Party starting Kid ‘n Play is getting a remake. The new House Party” stars Tosin Cole and Jacob Latimore. The reboot also features Karen Obilom, D.C. They will have to party as if their lives depend on it. The trailer promises everything from celebrity guests, including Kid Cudi and Snoop Dogg, to a stoned koala. Penned by Jamal Olori and Atlanta writer Stephen Glover, the R-rated comedy features a stacked cast of newcomers and high-profile cameos. The arrival of the trailer comes not long after New Line announced that the movie, which was originally set to debut on HBO Max, would be delayed from its initially planned Dec. 9 release to one just a month later. Their job affords them access to throw a lavish party at the home of LeBron James with aim of raising money to send one of their daughters to preschool. Our first look at the comedy film shows Tosin Cole and Jacob Latimore in the lead roles, as they throw a huge party at an exclusive mansion as a part of their job as house cleaners.
